Cleo lavender masks are
designed to provide the user with a completely relaxing experience as well as
brightening the skin. Lavender has been used as a calming agent
for thousands of years. It was first used by the Romans who would add it to the
baths as it was said not only would it soothe your skin, but the scent had a
very calming effect on people and could ease nerves massively.
This has carried
on to today in our Cleo masks, with one customer saying “the lavender masks are a nice treat for a relaxing bath, and I like
that they are not tested on animals.”
Lavender or lavender oil is one of the only essential oils
which can be applied neat to the skin which proves that it is not harmful
to our epidermis in any way. This also means that it can work its
benefits on almost any skin type (such as sensitive skin) as it doesn’t cause
irritation at all.
Lavender is extremely helpful for the skin in many ways, and
for more than just the standard moisturising, hydrating etc etc. For example,
lavender oil can be a great aid to many skin conditions such as acne or eczema. Lavender has antiseptic and
anti-inflammatory properties which help to reduce swelling and redness as well
as minimising scarring. The antiseptic helps to kill the bacteria causing the
acne without causing damage to the skin itself, and prevents the infection from
going back in to the skin so it won’t come back. It is also helpful in eczema
as it prevents itchiness, and adds moisture
to the skin.
It also works fantastically well as a toner; Lavender oil encourages blood flow
towards the epidermis, which helps make the skin more firm which also helps to
reduce the signs of ageing. It also
improves the oxygen supply to the skin. An increase of oxygen encourages the
process of skin rejuvenation, in other words it boosts the renewal process of
the cells in the epidermis, hence giving you a fresher, more glowing skin tone.
Of course our lavender masks don’t contain just this, and in
fact there is a great array of other ingredients they contain to target many
other issues to make it a very versatile mask. Some of these ingredients
include witch hazel, lemon extract and applephenon. Applephenon is derived
from unripened apples; it is extremely rich in anti-oxidants and helps control
melanin formation and absorption of UV rays. This protects the skin and
prevents an uneven skin tone.
A Cleo lavender mask should
be applied to clean skin. Be sure to remove all make up before you apply so the
mask can really get to and work on your skin. Leave on for around 15 minutes,
remove and then rinse your face dry. After use, why not apply some Cleo moisturiser to continue soothing the skin?
