HERBAL MASKS- Cucumber

Cleo cucumber masks are made with the intentions to relax and refresh the user, whilst working wonders on the skin. Cucumber is said to be one of the best ingredients you can use in face masks. It has been used in skin care for many years, not just for its stereo typically famous “cucumber on eyes” treatment, but in creams and other herbal remedies which have worked wonders for people.

They have also worked wonders for our Cleo customers with one saying “the freshness of the cucumber mask was lovely and the smell was divine. It was relaxing in itself, you could tell the product was full of good things.”

It is said that cucumber can do more for your skin than it can your body and palate! Cucumber is extremely rich in vitamins and antioxidants which have a vast amount of benefits for you and your skin.

Cucumber is universally known for the wonders it can work on eyes. The ascorbic acid in cucumber can decrease water retention, which in turn reduces puffiness around the eyes and the combination of antioxidants and silica rejuvenate the skin which help to reduce dark circles. This combination also helps to fade freckles. In fact, cucumber has a mild bleaching property which is just enough to even out your complexion and give you a youthful glow.

Cucumber is another good toner, as it helps to tighten open pores. This helps protect the lower layers of the epidermis, as it prevents bacteria entering, such as from your make up and the air. This gives you much healthier skin which results in a much more radiant glow. It also helps with ageing; cucumber is made up of 95% water. This helps keep the skin hydrated and well moisturised. Its seeds are rich in Vitamin E and potassium which help in reducing fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes and other signs of ageing.

Our cucumber masks are combined with other ingredients to enhance the refreshing and rejuvenating experience our masks provide. One ingredient we use is collagen. Collagen is a natural protein created in the dermis (below the epidermis) and is the primary support and elasticity structure of the skin. When applied topically nourishes the epidermis firming and revitalising the skin. Used on a regular basis, it replenishes the skin’s natural collagen levels increasing elasticity and hydration, making it smooth and plump.

Apply our cucumber masks to clean skin, relax for 15 minutes then remove and wash the face with lukewarm water and pat dry. After use, why not apply some Cleo moisturiser to continue soothing the skin?
